What we ask of writers and what we pay them

We believe in paying writers fairly — it is how we keep the best on our network and keep quality high for students.

What we require

  • Masters or PhD qualification in the subject you want to write on. Ideally from a recognised Australian, UK, US, or Commonwealth university.
  • Near-native English fluency in both written and spoken English, with strong academic writing skills.
  • Familiarity with Australian academic conventions — AQF levels, Harvard and APA referencing, Australian English spelling, and typical university grading rubrics.
  • Integrity — no generative-AI use, no plagiarism, no sharing of customer data with third parties.
  • Reliability — ability to hit deadlines you commit to, respond to writer-portal messages within a few hours, and communicate proactively if something changes.
  • Ability to work independently while taking feedback well when QA or customers request changes.

What we pay

Rates vary by subject complexity and deadline, but indicative per-page (275-word) rates are:

  • Standard subjects (business, marketing, education, humanities): AUD 12–18 per page
  • Science, engineering, IT, nursing: AUD 16–24 per page
  • Law, specialised health, advanced finance: AUD 20–30 per page
  • Dissertations and thesis work: AUD 22–35 per page

Urgent deadlines (under 24 hours) pay a 50%–100% premium on top of the base rate. Writers with high ratings and low revision rates move up the pay bands after their first six months.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Four stages from application to first order

Mentored trial

Four weeks of paid trial orders under a senior writer. Every piece is reviewed and feedback given. Trial orders pay at standard rates, not reduced rates.
